Meet Your Regional Vice President of Operations

Lisa Baty

Why did you get into senior living?

Initially, it was demographics. As a teen, the only place to work was Sun City Center. I worked in a bank, at a grocery store, in a beauty salon. Most of the customers were seniors. I had a lot of time to talk to and get to know them. When I moved away, I attempted to work outside the industry, but gravitated back to senior living. I discovered that I appreciated the values and knowledge they possess that I couldn’t find elsewhere. So here I am.

Who truly inspires you?

My Dad. He was the kindest man I know. He was a minister for most of his life (over 50 years). He walked the walk every day, without fail. I never heard him raise his voice in anger or say an unkind word about anyone. He never judged or disliked anyone, and he was always there for me. I hope I have made him proud.

A thing people would be surprised to know about you?

You pick: I helped wrangle an alligator when I was married (he climbed my fence and was in my yard). I like to ride motorcycles and play poker. I have a great-grandchild, Ava Grace. I am a native Floridian. I was raised in the town of Ft. Lonesome, Florida.

Beatles or Elvis?

Elvis, of course. Duh!

How did you wind up at Inspired Living?

I have been in senior living for over 20 years. I have seen the good and the not-so-good. I was looking for a company that had values and a true moral compass. I took the time to find out what Validus was all about and loved what I learned. I was sold when I met the Leadership Team (Steve, Lindsey, Courtney, Kate, Rebecca).

What do you want your legacy to be?

That I was an honest and good person, who put God and family above all else. Nothing else will make a difference when you’re gone.
