Examples of ADLs include but are not limited to:

- Going to the bathroom (cleaning one’s self properly, attending to incontinence issues)
- Getting dressed (wearing clean, weather-appropriate clothing)
- Eating three daily meals that ensure the resident’s nutritional needs are being met
- Taking prescribed medications as directed by a physician
Luxury assisted living in the greater New Orleans area also provides help with “instrumental activities of daily living” (IADLs). These activities may not be as essential as ADLs, but they are still important for enabling residents to enjoy feeling a high level of self-sufficiency. Examples of IADLs include:
